Meetings

As a part of the ESC program all the volunteers must attend two meetings, the On-arrival meeting and the midterm meeting.

The On-arrival meeting is at the beginning of the project. In my case, the first week of October in Kolding, a small city in the middle of Jylland or Jutland. Though we spent most of the time in a “hostel - camp”, that is to say, the accommodation was like a Hostel, 4 people in one room, share bathroom, and with buffet. It was surrounded by forest with a big lake nearby. The closest city was Kolding, which is quite small, but beautiful. In this meeting around 50 volunteers were reunited together to receive information about the culture and way of life of Denmark. It was 5 intense days with many activities and things to learn. I must admit that I didn’t like the schedule and some of the activities, sometimes I felt as if I was in High School again, but in the end was a good experience. I met many people form all around Europe, and I got to have some nice and funny memories. Also, the food was incredibly good.

The midterm meeting was at the end of January and it was in Copenhagen. At this point, it was my second time in Copenhagen, and I had the time to explore more about this wonderful city. The accommodation was another Hostel in the city center.

This time, the meeting lasted 4 days and, from my point of view, it was more dynamic.
